Mario has been asked to watch his friends farm for a whole year!
Not wanting to spend 12 months farming, Mario decides to use the Power Stars to speed things up!
There are four courses with one Star each, and four variations of the farm Mario is watching, which acts as the Hub World. Course 1 has a 5 Secrets mission, Course 2 has an 8 red coins mission, Course 3 requires Mario to defeat all Boo's and a Big Boo, and Course 4 has a fresh new platforming course for Mario to navigate.

Ongoing Stories[]
Several of the Toad villagers can be spoken to in each course, and all have dialogue that is unique to that course.
There is an ongoing love story between two Toads- one who lives in a pink house, and another who seems to be a blacksmith. The blacksmith makes their move in the summer, but struggles with flirting due to excessive sweating. During autumn, their love interest can be found hiding from the Boo's at the blacksmith's house, who is ecstatic that their crush is doing so. During the final season, the blacksmith seems much more confident and makes a comment about how they're always found more social success during winter, as they don't sweat so much.
A shopkeeper Toad is in an ongoing battle with the local supermarket. Due to having higher prices than the supermarket, the Toad is losing customers to the larger business, though they try their best to deny why that is happening. Luckily for the Toad, the deep freeze in winter knocks out the supermarket's computer systems, rendering them unable to make transactions, and thus unintentionally gifting the season's customers back to the Toad shopkeeper.
In the summer, a Toad can be found stuck on the roof of the supermarket. Apparently, their predicament is the result of a prank gone wrong, and now their friends are no longer around to help the Toad get down safely. Amazingly, the Toad is still up there when the Boo's are haunting the village during autumn. The Toad is suddenly thankful that they're on the roof, as they're now safe from the Boo's. By winter, the Toad has managed to get down and is gone from the roof.
