AAAAAAAAA is a ROM hack created by devwizard for the Linear Hack Competition, in which it placed 8th.
One level of crazy platforming, plus all sorts of impressive hidden goodies and memes to find. What more could you want?
Gameplay[]
This hack consists of two levels and a hub area; both levels take place in a secret course named "a". The speed limit for certain actions has been disabled, namely riding a Koopa shell and spinning Bowser around by his tail.
The first level contains non-functional red coins intended to troll the player, and a short linear climb up towards a Star in a box. Collecting the Star will send Mario to the second level, and the player will not be granted the option to save their progress.
The second level requires the player throwing Bowser up into the only bomb, which is up above the centre of the stage. However, the game will deliberately throw Bowser in the opposite direction to where Mario is facing when the player attempts to throw him, so to hit the bomb, Mario needs to be facing away from the bomb to send Bowser in the right direction.
Trivia[]
- Every time Mario groundpounds the sign in Mario's bedroom, one of his limbs gets turned invisible until he's only a head and a torso.
- While standing on Mario's bed, it shows him sleeping peacefully.
- A level select screen can be accessed by entering the warp pipe halfway up the first level, by jumping around the invisible wall. Some of the options will send the player to the corresponding level; option 5, "Creeper", sends the player back into the level select screen; options 6 - 37 send the player back to the hack's title screen, and option 38 sends the player to a black screen with Jolly Roger Bay's music playing.
- Options 5 - 37 are reciting the lyrics to a Minecraft song parody by CaptainSparklez, titled "Revenge", which was a popular meme at the time of this hack's creation.
