Despite being listed as a retexture hack on RHDC, it... isn't really. The player does not play as Mario, nor any character. Instead, for the duration of the entire game, the camera stays fixated on the stained glass window that Peach is supposedly being held captive behind. Mario will act completely of his own accord and play the game himself, and go off adventuring to recover the Stars.
The only gameplay that requires the player's input is moving the dialogue boxes onwards, and answering any of the options that come up, such as whether or not to save after each Star.
And so it begins. The same adventure you've experienced many times already. But this time, you'll be playing the game from a new perspective, one that has never been shown before. We present to you Super Mario 64, as told through the eyes of another of the game's Star characters: PRINCESS PEACH!
After the opening cutscene and the intro dialogue (as seen above), Mario will walk himself over to the Castle's entrance and encounter the Lakitu Bros. After the player moves the dialogue boxes on, Mario can be heard entering the Castle. Given a few minutes, he will eventually either die or obtain a Star. The sequence of events is random, but influenced by what courses would typically be available to Mario at that point in the game.
