Block City is a ROM hack created by Ryogre which was included in SirRouven1003's Hack Pack. Currently, this hack is only available in German.
Gameplay[]
This hack contains one level with seven Stars to collect; Red coins have been retextured to appear dark blue, and blue coins have been retextured to appear bright orange. The level itself contains over 150 coins.
This hack uses the vanilla overworld, but has the introduction cutscene and Lakitu's cutscene disabled.
Stars[]
Act 1: Koenig Whomps Rache[]
For this Star, you'll need to defeat King Whomp. Head over to the high wall to the left of Mario's starting point, and use the pole next to it to leap over the wall. Don't be afraid of fall damage; despite being invisible, there is a deep pond of water here.
Once over the wall, activate the timed block switch and use the boxes to jump up to the floating islands, then over to where King Whomp is. Be aware of the kuromame (firebreather) that is behind him.
Act 2: Stell Dich Auf Die Baumstaemme[]
Each Secret is marked by a wooden post; jump above each post to discover the Secret. Their locations are as follows:
- Next to Mario's starting point
- Between the houses
- Inside one of the houses
- Next to the wall surrounding King Whomp's pond
- Next to the blue (orange) coin switch
The Star will spawn at Mario's starting point.
Act 3: Brunnen Und Das Geistwasser[]
Act 4: Stangen Kletteri[]
Act 5: Hoch Oben Auf Der Insel[]
Act 6: 8 Blaue Muenzen[]
- In the pond to the right of Mario's starting point
- Behind the rocky hill, next to the aforementioned pond near Mario's starting point
- Inside of the house with the wooden objects in it
- On one of the floating islands, up past the blue (orange) coin switch
- In the chimney on top of the house
- On top of the wooden arch over the warp point for Star 3
- In the bottom of the pond under King Whomp
- Inside of a house, entered through a window with some coins next to it
The Star will spawn on top of the house containing the 8th coin.
