Buddy's Resort is a ROM hack created by WenteroLP which was included in SirRouven1003's Hack Pack. Currently, this hack is only available in German.
Overview[]
This hack contains one course overwriting the course 1 area ID, called Buddys Resort. This hack uses vanilla SM64's overworld areas, so the only custom course in this hack is accessed by jumping into the painting for Bob-omb Battlefield.
The Wing Cap course is unchanged from vanilla SM64, however, it can now be accessed with any amount of Stars, despite the spotlight not being present.
The introduction cutscene and Lakitu's cutscene have both been removed, and Mario's triple-jump has received a slight modification; after completing the third jump, he continues to somersault until he reaches the ground.

Act 1: Buddys Suchspiel[]
This mission requires the player to find five Secrets, or their equivalent. |

This mission requires the player to find five Secrets, or their equivalent. |
This is a five Secrets mission, with each Secret being marked by a Bob-omb Buddy. Their locations are as follows:
- On top of the sand castle; the easiest way to get on top is to wallkick off of the nearby cliff.
- On the sand bank near the sand castle.
- On top of the tallest tower (See Act 3 for directions).
- Next to the cannon, on the hill opposite the one Mario starts on.
- Inside the cave accessed via the underwater passage in the pond.
Once all five Secrets have been discovered, the Star will spawn next to the Bob-omb Buddy closest to Mario's starting point.
Act 2: Der Schmale Grad[]
Head down the path ahead of Mario's starting point, and where the path curves around the tree with a coin above it, follow the narrow path along the cliff. The Star is at the end of the path, but watch out for the two Fly Guys that patrol the path.
Act 3: Auf Den Daechern[]
Head down into the valley, and cross over to the other side of the river; scale the hill with a tower on it by either triple-jumping up to it, or by slope-kicking. Once up there, wallkick up between the tower and the cliff wall to reach the lower part of the tower with two "!" boxes on it. The Star is in the one closer to the cliff.
Alternatively, you can take the intended path, which involves navigating the precarious path up the towers in the middle of the course. Be wary of the two Fly Guys you'll have to dodge if you take this path instead.
Act 4: Finde Die 8 Roten Muenzen[]
The locations of the red coins are as follows:
- On the recess on the front of the sand castle.
- Around the rim of the sandy islet area, directly under the start of the narrow cliff path leading to Star 2, there's a small recess in the cliff with a red coin in it, hidden behind a raised part of the ground.
- Behind the second tallest tower, on top of some crates.
- On the upper platforming section connecting the towers' tops, off to the side of the thinnest tower.
- On a platform below where the Bob-omb patrols on the aforementioned upper platforming section.
- In an underwater recess in the river, under the natural bridge.
- In a small recess underwater, round the edge of the pond.
- Inside the cave accessed via the underwater tunnel in the pond.
Once all red coins have been collected, the Star will spawn on the sandy islet near the sand castle.
Act 5: Die Quelle Des Wasserfalls[]
For this Star, head over to the cannon on the hill opposite the one Mario starts on. If the cannon isn't unlocked yet, talk to the Bob-omb Buddy next to it first. Then, shoot Mario towards the top of the waterfall so that he lands on the top of it, and the Star is a short distance upstream (there is no water up here).
Act 6: Zurueck Zum Start[]
This Star requires the use of the Wing Cap. If you haven't yet done so, head into Tower of the Wing Cap (which can now be accessed with any amount of Stars) and hit the red Switch.
Once you have the Wing Cap, simply fly into the recess containing the Star, which is behind Mario's starting point up on the cliff face.
Coin Star[]
This level has (at least) 154 coins to collect in it. While there is no blue coin switch, there are three Piranha Plants near the sand castle that will drop a total of 15 coins; a coin formation at the start of the path leading up the towers, and a Koopa Troopa near the pond. As is often the case, I recommend collecting the coin Star while working towards the red coin Star in Act 4.
