Cascade Slide is a ROM hack created by GomePlayTV for the Slide Level Competition, in which it placed 2nd.
Currently, this hack cannot be viewed on RHDC except by users with extra permissions granted.
An incredibly aesthetically pleasing, fun to play and genuinely well put together hack. Consists almost entirely of slides. Custom music included. Made for SimpleFlips Competition #2: Slide Hacks.
Gameplay[]
This hack contains one level overwriting the course 1 area ID, called Cascade Slide. Its Acts are Quest For The Grand Star / Collect The 10 Purple Coins / Thanks For Playing, with the third and consecutive Acts not having any Stars associated with them.
If Mario dies inside this course, he is kicked out of a painting into an overworld area resembling Bob-omb Battlefield's room in the castle, albeit retextured. This is also where Mario is sent if the player chooses to exit the course.

Upon starting the game, the player will begin in course 1, where vanilla SM64's opening cutscene will play in the custom level. Once the player is granted control of Mario, he is immediately warped to a separate area where he lands on all three Cap Switches at once. He is then immediately warped back to the starting point for course 1.
The course itself is one long slide with some deviations along the way. None of the deviations contain purple coins, so any route can be chosen.
Stars[]
- The first Star is the Grand Star, which is at the very end of the slide high up in the sky. It requires the Wing Cap in order to reach it.
- Collecting all 10 purple coins will spawn a Star in the middle of the Thwomp section of the slide. Alongside the expected red coin sound effects, collecting a purple coin will also play an explosion sound effect.
- The third Star requires the player collect 100 coins. Along the way are two large red mushrooms; these are worth ten coins each.

Trivia[]
- The hub area is actually the same room that would normally contain the painting for Bob-omb Battlefield. However, the door to the rest of the Castle is blocked off.
- There is a hidden 1UP in the hub area, on top of the boxes blocking the door.
