Castle Dream is a ROM hack created by IndigoSM64. It contains one course called Eam with 6 collectable Stars, and a Grand Star as the 7th that warps the player to the endscreen. This hack is also available in French, by downloading the file named "napoleon_edition".

Gameplay[]

This hack contains a small number of custom mechanics. Mario does not take fall damage in this, and the lives counter has been disabled. There are also a few minor changes to other aspects, such as the inclusion of an NPC who asks Mario for money. Regardless of how much money the player has, agreeing to give the NPC money will result in only one coin will be deducted from their coin count, which then prompts the NPC to complain.

Stars[]

Act 1: Ascent Of The Holy Mountain[]

The holy mountain in question is the very large hill on the other side of the course from Mario's starting point.

Act 2: The Top Of The Dream Castle[]

Navigate to the castle to the left of Mario's starting point, and ascend the structure. Once on the top level, triple jump onto the roof of the turret and grab onto the flag pole. Climb to the very top and leap upwards off of it to get the Star.

Act 3: The Reds In Madness[]

Collect the 8 red coins. As this mission involves going all around the main area for this course, this is also a good time to obtain the 100 coin Star. The red coin locations are as follows:

  • Up in the air of the archway, to the right of Mario's starting point. Wallkick to reach it.
  • On top of the stone structure above Mario's starting point. You will need to perform an arch walljump to get up there.
  • On the stone structure to the right of Mario's starting point.
  • On the way up the holy mountain, at the bottom of a slope.
  • On top of the marquee's turret. Follow the path climbing up around the outside of the marquee to get there.
  • On top of the lower turret on the castle.
  • On the island below the castle. Jump to the castle's first platform, then jump up to the alcove on the left. Drop down the hole to safely land on the island, then collect the red coin. To return to the castle, stand still on the spot the red coin was on.

The Star will spawn in the black spotlight next to the "t" cross, in front of the holy mountain.

Act 4: Inside The Marquee[]

The marquee is the multicoloured crystalline structure near the centre of the course, with a tall "chimney" coming out of the top. Enter the marquee via the opening near the base, and follow the path up inside it until Mario reaches the Star.

Act 5: What Will Happen In The Future[]

For this Act, navigate to the small stone structure to the right of Mario's starting point, and enter the dark hole in the middle. This will warp Mario to a sub-area with a slide; this slide can be a tad tricky to get in one shot, but you can skip the first section of it by carefully dropping down to a lower section of the slide from the starting area, near the entrance. The Star is at the bottom of the slide above some flowers.

Act 6: An Intruder In The Dream[]

Follow the coin trail leading away to the right of Mario's starting point, until he comes face to face with the intruder. Once battle begins, pick up the intruder from behind and toss them into the nearby football net- this made take a couple throws, but thankfully dream Mario throws things much further than his awakened self.

100 Coin Star[]

The main area for Eam contains at least 132 coins. The first sub-area, inside the marquee, contains a further 10 coins, and the second sub-area, the slide from Act 5, does not contain any coins.
