Cloudloft Towers is a secret course that contains the Wing Cap Switch in Mario's Nightmare 64. It is accessible after claiming 20 Power Stars, unlocking the door to the bathroom, and then jumping out of the window. This course takes place in the bottomless sky where towers emerge from the clouds. This course resembles its Super Mario 64 counterpart, Tower of the Wing Cap, but with a different design and more than 4 towers surrounding the castle tower in the center. Mario uses the Wing Cap to navigate most of the course and unlike in the original game, some unique elements are added such as cannons and secret foundations within the towers.

Note: this course was initally referred to as Sky High Tower in the previous version.

Missions[]

Red Coins in the Air[]

Using the Wing Cap he is granted, Mario can fly around the area and collect the red coins floating in the air. Only five of them are spotted on airborne, two red coins are in a lookout tower and the last red coin inside the tower with the wire net and the platforms protruding out of it.

Once six of the eight red coins are collected, the Power Star appears at the base of the central tower.

Fake Roof Star[]

This secret star is located amongst one of the six lookout towers. This tower in particular has a darker brown roof which is not solid to touch, the player can fly through and find a hole inside the tower where the Power Star is in.

Hidden Tower Star[]

This star is exclusive only in the final update. This star is located inside the tower with the wire net: right from where one of the red coins is, there is another secret floor above it.

5 Star Shards[]

This star was previously available in the older version until it was replaced by its new substitute. Using the Wing Cap, the player can fly high up the area and grab the star shards sitting above the towers. Although there are four of them visible, the fifth shard is located inside the tower where the new star is hidden from.

Once all five secrets are collected, the star appears in one of the lookout towers.
