Coin Simulator is a hack created by CowQuack for Aprils Fools of 2024. It is a conceptual hack that allows the player to experience being a singular gold coin that has been dropped into the Castle Grounds.
Gameplay[]
As a gold coin, there are a number of actions that the player can no longer perform. Opening doors, using the cannon, and most jumps are no longer possible. Instead, pressing A will prompt the coin to jump up, then continue bouncing for a while in the same manner that a coin dropped from an item box would. When underwater, pressing A will move the coin up by a small amount- repeatedly mashing A will make the coin ascend through water.
As a coin, the player is no longer limited by Mario's inherent slipperiness, and can traverse the slopes of the Castle Grounds with no issue. Jumping into the cannon- which is open- will allow the coin to simply sit in the hole with it. It is possible to cause a soft-block by falling into the hole that normally warps Mario to Vanish Cap Under the Moat. The shallow amount of water in the hole prevents the coin from jumping high enough to exit the hole.
All sound effects for player inputs have been changed in accordance with the typical noises one might expect from a coin.
