Despair Mario's Gambit 64 (or DMG64 for short) is a major ROM hack created by GMDDoesDMG, featuring over 12 courses with 120 Stars.

This hack is the 3rd entry that follows GMD's name convention--the first being GMD64 (Gamer Mario's Destiny) and DoES (Diorama of Extreme Shenanigans) as the second.

Despair Mario's Greens 64, a green Star extension of the hack, was released the following year.

Trivia[]

  • This hack makes use of Danganronpa's references on the Stars as well as boxes (represented as Monokuma). For example, in Gambling Gambit, portraits of the cast of characters from all 3 main games are present and in The End, a picture of Kaede Akamatsu playing the piano is shown.
  • There are images which depicts AndrewSM64 (SM64 ROM hack player) found in Anihasa Village and Cryogenic Crystal Creek, as well as portraits of other people in one minor area. One of them has been covered in the final update for personal reasons.
