Despair Mario's Gambit 64 (or DMG64 for short) is a major ROM hack created by GMDDoesDMG, featuring over 12 courses with 120 Stars. This hack takes a lot of visual inspiration from the videogame series, Danganronpa.
This hack is the 3rd entry that follows GMD's name convention; the first being GMD64 (Gamer Mario's Destiny) and DoES (Diorama of Extreme Shenanigans) as the second.
A green comet-style edit of this hack, was released the following year.

C13 Act 5: The House's Puzzle, and Act 6: The Absolute Classic[]

Act 5 requires the player to navigate a room in which the floor is marked with a grid, and most tiles are quicksand. A signpost on the tower above the warp point to reach the room contains some hints, which can be read below. Alternatively, a map of the safe squares can be seen in the image to the right.

Act 6's name refers to two common tropes used in SM64 ROM hacks. The first is the trope of hiding a Star inside of a wall, usually with the permeable section of wall being discoloured or darkened to indicate to the player that there's a hidden compartment behind it. The second trope is the one of hiding a Star incredibly close to Mario's starting point, usually above or below him.
This particular Star is hidden below Mario's starting point, behind a discoloured section of wall that can be seen by jumping down behind the platform, as seen in the screenshot to the right.

Trivia[]
- This hack makes use of Danganronpa's references on the Stars as well as boxes (represented as Monokuma). For example, in Gambling Gambit, portraits of the cast of characters from all 3 main games are present and in The End, a picture of Kaede Akamatsu playing the piano is shown.
- There are images which depicts AndrewSM64 (SM64 ROM hack player) found in Anihasa Village and Cryogenic Crystal Creek, as well as portraits of other people in one minor area. One of them has been covered in the final update for personal reasons.
