Disaster Dash

Disaster Dash is a ROM hack created by Omega_Merk for the SimpleFlips' Troll Hack Competition (2023), in which it placed 43rd.

Rush through 5 red coin stages whilst solving puzzles and avoiding trolls. Don't overthink them, you don't have much time.

This hack is a series of five consecutive red coin challenges, in which the player has two minutes to find all 8 red coins and collect the Star. Should the timer run out, Mario's HP will be set to zero, and he will instantly die. If this happens, or should the player die through any other means, he will be sent to the next level, where the timer will immediately reset.

Regardless of whether or not the Stars are collected, the player will still end up in the same place at the end of the hack.

The ice on the upper half of the level can only be crossed if there's an orange texture below it. The final two red coins are both at the top of the level, one of them is textured to appear as a gold coin.
C5	Let's Play a Game	What Do The Colours Mean?	Help with this stage: So far as I can tell, the colours don't seem to mean anything?
