Jump on the car ahead of the spawn point and jump up onto the building. Then, climb up the buildings to the immediate left. When you're close enough, long jump over to the Star, which is hovering in front of the welcome sign. Or you can just jump down onto the top of the sign and walk over to it for a much shorter jump.
High-Wire Act[]
Run past the obelisk and wall kick up the beige building to the right of the light blue building. Climb the metal steps sticking out of the blue building until you are on top of the purple garage, then do a 180 and climb the metal steps going higher. Cross the wooden plank at the top of these steps, then jump down to the Star in a nook in the building opposite.
Meter Maid Mario[]
This is the red coin Star mission. The Star spawns on top of the Velvet Goomba, which is accessible by wall-kicking up between the Velvet Goomba and the building to its right.
On top of the blue car next to the blue building, right next to spawn.
On top of the green car behind spawn, in front of the welcome sign.
On top of the orange car behind the building chuckya hangs out on (past the blue car at spawn, then left at the crossroads).
Pass the blue car and directly ahead of the alley full of goombas on top of another blue car.
At the purple garage, on top of a red car that is parked up the slopes.
On top of a green car parked on the road next to the purple garage.
On an orangey yellowish car parked under the metal steps Mario climbed in the 2nd Act (High-Wire Act).
On top of a rusty car on the roof of the Velvet Goomba. Wall-kick up between the VG and the building to the right of it.
Slick Green Slates[]
Hop onto the blue car next to the blue building left of the obelisk, and enter the vertical parkour section behind the purple lattice. Use wall-kicks to navigate this bit, and upon reaching Mr. I do a 180 to turn the other direction. Triple jump up onto the higher platform ahead. Wall-kick up and out of here and carefully head down the slope to Mario's left (if you slide down this too fast, you will overshoot the next area and fall down). Ignore the box switch and follow the vertical coins up the side of the green building. Bypass the goomba and hop down to the small green roof. The next part can be quite tricky- slide down the green slope, but before getting to the end, jump and use the momentum to land on the next slope. There are 3 slopes total; after the third you will need to land on a small platform with a boxed Star on it. What makes this tricky is that the slopes are very short and very slippery, so Mario needs to be very quick jumping off of them before falling.
Dive Into Infinity[]
Hop onto the blue car next to the blue building left of the obelisk, and enter the vertical parkour section behind the purple lattice. Use wall-kicks to navigate this bit, and upon reaching Mr. I do a 180 to turn the other direction. Triple jump up onto the higher platform ahead. Wall-kick up and out of here and carefully head down the slope to Mario's left (if you slide down this too fast, you will overshoot the next area and fall down). Activate the box switch and use those boxes to cross over to the next building. Follow the path up and around the purple clock tower, then jump up to the thin rusty ridge and run around to the... balcony? Sure. Climb the steps on the roof. Once you've reached the top of the purple clock tower, you will need to slide down towards the coin arrow and jump before the end, using the momentum to carry Mario over the gap. Wall-kick up the inside of the building, break the coin box up there and defeat the Mr. I waiting up there (he's very much in the way of some upcoming cool parkour moves).
Button presses immediately after longjumping to the obelisk.
"Can't reach the infinity pool? Here's a tip: Long jump onto the left or right side of the peak of the obelisk, then press A<>B to jumpdive. Remember, use the sides. Do not jump off the front [or] the peak will eat your dive. Make sure to keep holding Z when you land on it. This will give you more time to do a jumpdive."
The Power Star is in the infinity pool.
The Velvet Goomba[]
Enter the Velvet Goomba and marvel at the black Bob-omb that immediately walks into the void. Navigate across the glowing platforms while taking care not to fall into the pit below. You can bypass the chuckya's platform by longjumping straight to the platform behind it, with a goomba on it. You can also bypass the next platform and Mr. I's platform by longjumping to the next goomba's platform and grabbing the edge. Once you're on the DJ's deck talk to DJ Bud-E and eat his mushroom. This will warp Mario to the top of the nightclub and give him the Star.
100 Coin Star[]
There are (at least) 210 coins in Downtown Daydream, with most of them being very easy to acquire.
At the end of the wooden beam used in the 2nd act (High-Wire Act), there is a box containing 10 coins.
By wall-kicking up the side of the Velvet Goomba, Mario can collect 5 coins on the way up, 8 coins from a coin circle on the roof, and 5 more coins from the 3 goombas and red coin that are also up here.
On the building straight of the spawn point, there is a chuckya, 10 coins from vertical coin lines, and a blue coin switch. There are 3 blue coins- they spawn in a space-out row alongside the green building, but the 1st coin is higher up and just out of view (you can easily see its shadow).
There are 10 coins on top of the purple garage Mario climbed on in the 2nd act (High-Wire Act), a Lakitu further up the metal steps and 5 coins on the wooden beam..

Sorry but the club's at maximum capacity at the moment. If I let you in we could lose our liquor license. Come back later.

I told you man the club is full! Don't worry, DJ Bud-E is starting soon. That always clears the place out. That dude sucks. Between you and me, he's actually the son of the owner. We just put him on in the morning to get people to leave so we can lock up.

In front of the obelisk
This obelisk is a priceless artifact from ancient civilisation, and just one of many located in cities all across the globe. It's surface is inscribed with ornate carvings that mean something or other, and it was very important to the people who made it, probably. Donated by the British Museum to raise awareness for erectile dysfunction.
