Bob-omb Island is the first main course in Super Mario Star Road. The left path in the Star Leap Tower Grounds leads to a Toad standing next to an easel with a painting on it, which is the entrance to the course. Bob-omb Island does not require any Power Stars to be accessed, as it is the first course in the game. Bob-omb Island is a mountainous island inhabited by Bob-ombs. Like Bob-omb Battlefield, the black Bob-ombs are in constant war with the Bob-omb Buddies, whom are blue in Super Mario Star Road.

Landmarks include some scattered pillars, a sunken ship--which, as said by a Bob-omb Buddy, was a warship that belonged to the black Bob-ombs--and a fortress in the sky, where King Bob-omb can be fought.

Missions[]

Star 1: Big Bob-omb's Sky Fort[]

Requires selecting Star 1. As said by a Bob-omb Buddy near the beginning of the course, King Bob-omb stole a Power Star from the Bob-omb Buddies, and Mario is tasked with retrieving it. In order to reach King Bob-omb's fortress in the sky, Mario must climb the mountain and jump his way across some floating platforms. Once Mario reaches him, however, he realizes that he isn't as weak as he was in the original game. He moves slightly faster and must now be thrown four times in the arena instead of three.

Star 2: On Top of the Sunken Ship[]

This Power Star is located at the top of the sunken ship's tallest mast. In order to reach it, Mario must use the cannon located on the beach. A Bob-omb Buddy on top of a pillars partway up the level will open the cannon for Mario. Mario must then precisely shoot to the Power Star.

Star 3: In the Side of the Mountain[]

This Power Star is located on the mack side of the mountain. Mario must swim through a tunnel near the Chain Chomp, then jump up some platforms to reach the star in the box.

Star 4: Find the 8 Red Coins[]

There are 8 Red Coins scattered throughout the course:

On a pillar near the start, reached by jumping off of a tree
At the front of the sunken ships
On the shorter mast of the sunken ship, reached by climbing a couple of platforms
On the shore behind the mountain, near the previous star
On a rock behind the Chain Chomp
On top of a pillar near the floating platforms, reached by jumping off of a tree
On one of the floating platforms
On the ledge behind the Sky Fortress

Collecting them all will spawn the Power Star near the water bomb cannon.

Star 5: Deep Dive in the Cage[]

Requires Vanish Cap. This Power Star is located in the cage directly behind where Mario spawns. Mario must use the Vanish Cap located on top of the cage to enter it, then swim down to the star while avoiding the Amps.

Star 6: Smash the Chain Chomp's Rocks[]

Near the Chain Chomp, there are five small rocks stuck in the ground. Mario can destroy them with ground pounds, revealing five secrets underneath. Collecting the five secrets will spawn the star above a nearby tree.
