Garden of Hope (AKA Garten der Hoffnung) is a ROM hack created by Progamer Bob which was included in SirRouven1003's Hack Pack. Currently, this hack is only available in German.
Overview[]
This hack contains one custom course overwriting the course 1 area ID, which is accessed from a small custom hub area. From the hub area, the player can also access the Wing Cap course via a small metal pipe in the corner. This level is unchanged from vanilla, so its red coin Star doesn't count towards the Star total of this hack.
The course is called Garten Der Hoffnung, and its Acts are Whumps Haus / Befrei Den Hund / Ziegelsteins Haus / Ueber Dem Wasser / Unter Dem Wasser / Fliegende Ringe. It has at least 135 coins in it, which includes two blue coin switches. There is no red coin Star, but there is a Secrets mission on the last Act, which requires the player use the Wing Cap and cannon to find five Secrets in the sky, which are all marked with small 3D ring models.
The Wing Cap can be found on top of the house that Mario starts in front of upon entering the course. To get on top of the house, activate the switch hidden in the flowerbed around the left side of the house.
If the player uses the pause menu to exit a course, Mario will be warped to the Castle lobby. From here, they can access the Castle Grounds and any other courses; the painting for Bob-omb Battlefield will succesfully warp Mario to course 1. If the player enters the Castle Grounds, attempting to re-enter the Castle will cause a crash. Interestingly, the models for Toad and Lakitu are tilted on the wrong axis. Furthermore, while Lakitu is present in the Castle Grounds, it does not seem possible to trigger Lakitu's introduction cutscene.
