King Boo's Revenge X is a ROM hack made by thebloody7 and released in May 2020. It is the sequel to King Boo's Revenge 2, and of the King Boo's Revenge series.
In contrast to the 2 previous installments, this hack offers 160 Stars, new aesthetics and twisted challenges combined, all to be made in a harder difficulty. Additionally, the Vanish Cap gets an ability upgrade called the "Quicksand Cap", which lets the player walk on the quicksand for a short period of time, while still being able to pass through walls.
Also, it contains fewer red coin Stars as a reward by reaching the pipe at the end of the key boss levels, as well as hidden 100 coin Star boxes (as Star 7) to make the game's length more straightforward.
A belated update of the hack was released the following year called King Boo's Revenge X FREE, this edition slightly improves the hack by adding checkpoints reserved for difficult parts in every stage and other small changes.
Plot[]
King Boo has suddenly disappeared and Mario is off to find him while he's on a journey discovering the mysteries of his realm.

- ↑ It took more willpower than it should have to not link the hour-long Furret Walk, where this song features in. Instead, I looked for a version with build-up, like in the game. Video's 49 minutes, yeah, but who the fuck cares, really.
