Lug's Tiny Torture is a Super Mario 64 ROM hack created by Lugmillord. Recently released in April 2021, this hack is the extreme version of Lug's Delightful Dioramas, containing the same features and adds newer twists. Following the diorama theme, the levels are mirrored and heavily altered as the hack contrasts challenges with puzzles and parkour jumping making the difficulty harder than normal.
Just like its predecessor, it shares the Super Mario 74 canon (hence the Star count remains identical). The game puts up with more taunts and helpful pro tips that aid beginner and skilled players alike to complete a specific mission or collect a Star. In addition, 1-Ups don't increase lives but ultimately heal the player at full power, and hidden easter eggs also return which is to find 20 secret Pixel Waluigis.
This hack comes in two different difficulties: "Hardcore", which has a difficulty comparable to Super Mario 74 Extreme Edition; and "Lite", which aims at those players who are new to extreme hacks or those who prefer to play without savestates entirely--the latter features slight level changes.
Plot[]
One day, Mario decided to work for Bowser in order to bring an end to the Mushroom Kingdom. Enraged upon his decision, Princess Peach made the tiny worlds as an ungrateful attempt to kill Mario from collecting the forbidden Ztars. This adventure isn't going to get delightful, but, rather devilish as we may think...

Secret Levels[]
The level counterpart, Danger Dice, is a plethora of little sections rotated in 6 directions which can be found in the main levels via a secret warp pipe. Just like Quantum Qube, every side contains 3 Stars in total. The black sections on the sides still cannot be touched as they are quicksand and can kill the player. The minor difference is that dying in the stage will take the player to a room where they can choose to retry the level or head back to the overworld.

Danger Dice - Indigo Side | 37 | This area combines the glass, ice spire and flower sections, and also homes the Vanish Cap Switch. It is located in Phyto-Phantasy via a warp pipe hidden in one of the two arterial pillars. The Vanish Cap lasts 5 seconds as its power is considered weak. |

Trivia[]
- Unlike its predecessor, collecting coins for the secret Star to appear doesn't stop at 74 but 100 instead. Also color palettes for coins express ranking values: yellow for bronze, red for silver, blue for gold.
- Both King Bob-omb and King Whomp have their facial appearance changed to become an Amp and a Podoboo.
- Phyto-Phantasy and Nocturnal Fortress have their level locations swapped from the original version, similar to the order change with Breezing Beach and Dried-Out Dead Desert in Super Mario 74 Extreme Edition. The reason behind the change was to adjust the difficulty curve.
- The final rotation of the Spheres, Baratrok Sphere, is Levora Sphere flipped upside down. This level is harder as it brings back quicksand hazards and crazy jump mechanics. A new type of the Kubus is also present, which acts the border of life and death in games. In the Lite version, the beginning signs mention this level being the little brother of the Hardcore version, as well as the Kubus being a replica of the real one.
- Danger Dice is the successor of Quantum Qube. Like the former, as all of the sides start and rotate on a different section. This level is harder as it requires advanced skill techniques to complete each side.
- The List of Achievements doesn't return in this game, but each main level hosts a sign during the coin mission displaying the total amount of coins in the level. Baratrok Sphere even has a sign at the very top checkilisting every single coin in each level.
- During the death cutscene, Peach's silhouette appears as she is meant to be the game's antagonist, while Bowser (now turned into Bowsette) is on the player's side.
