Mario Adventure is a Major ROM Hack made by aglab2. This hack is the follow-up sequel of Mario Heroes 64, but instead primarily focuses on the stages from the original Sonic Adventure. As a crossover hack, Mario ventures through the story campaign, featuring twisted missions to achieve and 130 Stars to collect in total.
Later throughout the game, all returning stages from the prequel appear as extra stages and are redesigned to be difficult than their original counterparts, as per being a post-game portion featuring one-word hint location stars (inspired by Star Revenge 6.5/7.5).
The sequel, Another Mario Adventure, was released in 2020, which features more similarities from past major hacks and new mechanics based on the Sonic 3D series of games.
Gameplay[]
The hack offers infinite lives so Mario won't have any game overs. Collecting 100 coins to earn the bonus star have been reduced to 50 coins, although throughout the main levels, few of them holds a extra star without collecting any coins.
For items, Wing, Metal and Vanish Cap boxes only serve as warp zones for the unlockable extra stages. Most caps are only used temporarily as they are spawned off of yellow !-Boxes (will not respawn after being opened once).
Bowser Courses no longer have a boss to fight against. Instead, the awarding "key" is earned after collecting all 8 red coins that will unlock the next area and levels.
