The Mario Jams Shell Shreddin' Competition was a custom mechanic-based competition hosted by the Mario Jams team. It received 10 submissions over the course of approximately ten days.
Rather than providing a theme for submissions to follow, the Mario Jams team instead provided code for a custom mechanic that altered the moveset for riding a Koopa Shell. Participants were to create a hack that used this custom mechanic and featured it as a focal point in the hack.
