Overview[]
Mario Party 64 recreates the boards of Mario Party along with several of its minigames in the style of Super Mario 64.
Each level has five Stars obtained via traditional means, while the sixth Star is obtainable via completing a mini-game accessed via a Warp Pipe somewhere in the game's level. Each level also has two items known as tokens in them. These tokens are exchanged in the Mini-Game Shop to purchase access to hidden cap stages and unique mini-games not found in the stages.
The first overworld is a recreation of the Mushroom Village. In Mario Party, this was the way boards, options, mini-games and shops were accessed. In the hack, they serve somewhat similar features. It contains the entry to the second overworld, needing five Stars.
The second overworld is located inside a Warp Pipe and has its own versions of the shops.
The third overworld is accessed by exiting the other side of the warp pipe and also has its own version of the shops, along with access to a secret minigame.
Shops[]
Shops are accessible in any overworld. They are used to perform various tasks in the game. The Mini-Game House is the most important, and its contents change depending on the overworld visited
Shop | Description |
---|---|
Mini-Game House | Using tokens, the player can buy mini-games or access to hidden cap stages. There is also a vase present in all shops that usually leads to a harder version of a minigame present in one of the levels of the current overworld. Beating it rewards Mario one Star. |
Mushroom Bank | Shows you how many tokens you have collected in each level. Levels are listed by abbreviation, with token amounts listed next to them in the format of #acquired : # in level |
Option House | Set the sound output options, and adjust how fast the camera moves when using the D-Pad. A TV shows the list of people involved in creating the hack. |
