This hack was originally titled Mario's Demise 64 and planned to contain 100 stars in its early development in 2020, then a full length demo with 104 Stars was released 2 years later. The hack is story-based and has lots of text explaining the plot and whereabouts of each hidden stage. It also has a semi-overworld system where all worlds don't require an amount of Stars up until the Dreamscape part and largely focuses on platforming and exploration combined.
