Minesweeper 64 is a hack made by someone2639 for the Retro Hack Competition, in which it placed 7th.
A port of Minesweeper to Super Mario 64! Created for the 7th Simpleflips Competition.
As the description states, this hack allows the player to play Minesweeper within a custom level of Super Mario 64. However, it is not a port of Minesweeper so much as a recreation of it within a SM64 ROM hack.
Stars are awarded for each board the player manages to completely clear. Collecting a Star will take the player to the end screen, which shows a screenshot from a computer running Windows 95 operating system, which had Minesweeper packaged with it.
Gameplay[]
The standard rules of Minesweeper apply. Turn over a square by groundpounding it. The L button can be used to flag a square, and pressing up on the D-Pad prior to collecting a Star or setting off a mine will reset the board.
Trivia[]
- In the credits sign, someone2639 gives a shoutout to their rowing team for placing 3rd in the finals at "SIRA" on the day prior to releasing the hack.
