SM64: Decades Later is a collaborative major hack made by BroDute and aglab2, with 150 Stars. It is a remake of the original Super Mario 64 done from memory, but with a large quantity of creative freedom.
This hack aims to recreate and reimagine vanilla SM64 levels from memory and remove stupid Stars that I never liked in the original.
That said, some levels will be similar to vanilla while others will feel like fully new levels, because of how bad the originals were e.g. Course 15.
If you desire new stuff, the endgame close to 150 Stars is filled with new original stages just like SM64DS had new levels.
Good luck and have fun!

Plot[]
Long after the events of Super Mario 64 (decades, even), Peach has had her Castle rebuilt completely from scratch. Mario has been tasked with ensuring that every part of the Castle is completely safe, but upon entering, a Toad will tell him that they have had some problems with the paintings "leaking". Mario takes that as his cue to Start collecting the Power Stars from the worlds connected to the Castle via the paintings, partly because no one thought to leave the Castle's doors unlocked for the safety inspection to go ahead.
Gameplay Changes[]
Neo Swimming[]
When swimming, if the player keeps Mario swimming at a good steady pace, then the player can switch to holding down the A button instead. This will make Mario continuously swim at top speed with ease, and use the kicking animation rather than the normal swim.
Coin Stars[]
While there are 8 red coins present for each red coin Star, only 6 of the 8 need to be collected to spawn the Star. 100 Coin Stars now also only require 80 coins.
Health[]
Fall damage has been removed. Falling off of a level no longer kicks Mario out of the level and takes a life; instead, a checkpoint system is used to warp Mario back to the last non-slippery surface he was standing on, and he loses four health points. This checkpoint system is also used when Mario falls into quicksand.

Characters[]
As is often the case in BroDute's hacks, his own personal character has been included in the story. It is required to speak with BroDute at least once in the game in the beginning, to obtain the first Star that will allow Mario to access the rest of the Castle Grounds.
Throughout the hack, BroDute can be found in many of the hub areas and courses. By talking to him in the Vanish Cap iteration of the Switch Palace, we can learn that he is actually watching Mario, as he admits that he should probably find "more out-of-the-way places to watch you from."
