SM64Kitty's Kaizo Hack is a ROM hack created by Katx.
Overview[]
This hack contains one level with seven Stars, and a fight against Bowser 3. This hack is in the median-to-upper range of kaizo difficulty.
This hack's only main course, Half Life, occupies the area ID for course 1, and has the following Acts: Surviving The Fallout / Wallkicks Will Work / This Star Is Free / Tower Of Failure / Leap Of Faith / 30 Coins 1 Life.
The level itself is a series of platforming challenges taking place above a void/open sky, which is filled with poison gas. The first obstacle Mario must overcome at his starting point is a series of wallkicks above a quicksand pit, with the walls being far enough apart to incentivise the player to use firsties to ascend before Mario dies to the poison.
This hack also contains a fight with Bowser 3, which requires 3 Stars to access. Upon entering the 3 Star door in the hub area, Mario is warped straight to Bowser's arena, which is populated with some firespewers and a recovery heart in the middle. Like Half Life, this level is also filled with poison gas.
Each area in this hack uses a significant amount of green in its design, but oddly, the Stars are light pink.
