SM64 2 Bowser's Revenge is a hack made by StupidMarioBros1Fan. It is a traditional style hack with 41 Stars to collect; the hub world is the same as vanilla with some minor edits, such as alternate textures and warps.
[]
There is no Course 4. Course 5 also only has 1 Star to collect, despite coming up with the Act select screen. Ordinarily this would require a spoiler warning, but unless you've seen a guide of some kind, there is no feasible way a human being is going to find some of the more hidden warps.
- Course 1 can be accessed via the painting in Jolly Roger Bay's room.
- Course 2 can be accessed by jumping into either of the paintings in the rooms for Whomp's Fortress or Cool Cool Mountain.
- Course 3 can be accessed by jumping into the painting in Bob-omb Battlefield's room.
- Course 5 is accessed its usual route, by jumping into the Big Boo's cage in the Castle Courtyard.
- The slide course is accessed by standing to the left of the door in Bob-omb Battlefield in the sort-of corner (unmarked warp).
- The first "Bowser Course" is accessible via it's usual route by entering the trap door that would normally lead to Bowser in the Dark World.
- The second"Bowser Course" is actually the third. It is accessible via it's usual route by entering the warp hole at the top of the Endless Stairs. In order to reach those, Mario needs to collect the Star in the slide level accessible from Bob-omb Battlefield's room, as the warp will drop him upstairs. He will then need to perform multiple BLJ's to enter the 50 Star door, and to ascend the Endless Stairs.
- The Wing Cap course is accessible via it's the usual route, by going into a close-up camera mode and pointing it up at the light in the main lobby.
- The Metal Cap course can be accessed via this route only:
- Head to the Castle Courtyard.
- Above the entrance is a cork block in the wall. Break it to reveal a red coin in the wall's crevasse.
- Go inside this weird little crevasse in the wall, and turn Mario so he is facing outwards, towards the fountain.
- Start performing repeated backwards longjumps, as though you are trying to BLJ up the Endless Stairs.
- After a short while of successful BLJ's, Mario will warp to the Metal Cap level.
- Realise you've got to do that another 3 times minimum to collect all of the Stars in the level, and cry. (Optional)
Areas[]
Type | Name | Stars Required | Stars | Acts | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Overworld | Castle Grounds | 2 | 5 Secrets Star and a Red Coin Star. | ||
Castle Courtyard | 1 | Red Coin Star, but the coins have been retextured to have the unused Boo key model from vanilla SM64's files. | |||
Main | Toad Town | 7 | Talk To The Mayor / Play the ! Block Game / Play the ! Block Game Again / Find The Five Beta Boo Keys / The Hard-to-Reach Green Star / The Star Under The Town And Over The Lava | This area is exclusive only in DEMO #1. Events change significantly between each Act. | |
Main | Mario Bros House | 7 | This Green Star Is Too Easy! / Shy Guys Surround The House / First Set Of 8 Red Coins In SM642 / Attack Of The Big Dark Bomb-Omb / The 5 Secrets Around The House / In The ! Box On The Roof | This area is exclusive in DEMO #2 and replaces Toad Town as the first course. Events change significantly between each Act. | |
Main | A Familiar Level | 3 Stars | 7 | Destroy The Whomp King Again, Again/ High Above The Fortress / Blast Off Towards The Sky / Red Coins All Around Here / Help From Hoot The Owl / Similar To The One In SM64? | Retextured Whomp's Fortress with a couple differences, like Hoot the Owl being in a different place. |
Main | Delfino Plaza | 7 | Near The Shine Gate / Some Of The Plaza's Blue Coins / Collect The Five Dead Fish / Behind The Cardboard Door / On Top Of The Lighthouse / 8 More Blue Coins | A recreation of Delfino Plaza from Super Mario Sunshine downscaled to the size of a miniature map. The 100 Coin Star can only collected in the final Act as there are not enough enemies present to harvest coins from earlier. | |
Main | Luigi's Haunted Mansion | 12 Stars | 1 | Go On A Ghost Hunt | Despite calling a "haunted mansion", this area instead a replica of the bathroom section based on the Facility stage from GoldenEye 007. It is the shortest level of the hack by far. Sanity warning for questionable wall collision. |
Main | The Pyramid | Key 1 | 7 | Inside The Very Tall Pyramid / The Green Star Underground / Out In The Open??? / Eight Red Coins Around Here / Five Ancient Koopa Shells / Five Sandy & Weird ! Blocks | |
Main | Tall Tall Mountain | 1 | New PowerUp Test??? | Selecting Act 1 will warp Mario straight to the slide course for Tall Tall Mountain. Selecting any other Act will take Mario to the main course as usual, but it seems the player is only supposed to get that first Star, as the main course itself is missing many features, such as Stars and Ukiki. | |
Bowser 1 | Bowser Inside the Doomship | 8 Stars | 6 | The Bowser fights in both levels cannot be entered in the latest version for some reason, the only solution being to play in DEMO #1 to engage them and acquire the keys. | |
Bowser 2 | Bowser in the SMW Castle | 30 Stars | |||
Bowser 3 | Bowser Hiding in the Dam | Key 2 | 3 | This course is exclusive in DEMO #2. This area is a replica of the first mission stage from GoldenEye 007. There is no pipe to access the Bowser fight. | |
Secret | Vanish Cap by M&L's House | Key 1 | 5 | This area is a replica of Mario's House from Paper Mario. Has terrible collision in the outside than the inside (may cause softlocks). Both areas home the Vanish Cap and Wing Cap Switches. | |
Secret | Wing Cap in M&L's House | 10 Stars | 1 | ||
Secret | Slender Woods | Vanish Cap | 5 | This area is based off of the game Slender: The Eight Pages. The Metal Cap Switch is located in this area. Accessible through the secret hole in Castle Courtyard (in DEMO #2 only). |
