SM64 Interstellar Legacy is a ROM hack created by rovertronic.
Unfinished hack by Rovert with a custom boss, and a new mechanic. Is slightly unfinished and broken in some areas but is mostly functional.
According to an in-game sign, this hack was supposed to be based more on the movie Interstellar.
Plot[]
Upon waking up (Starting a new file), Mario is told by Princess Peach that they have all been stuck in space for over a year, and that in order to get anywhere, they need Mario to obtain some power crystals, of which the ship has run out. Peach instructs Mario to search the ship for a spare power crystal lying around, so that they can make it to the nearest planet and obtain more of them.
Upon searching the storage module, Mario will find a Toad stuck behind some breakable boxes. The Toad, thankfully, has already found a spare power crystal, and gives it to Mario. And with that, the ship now has enough fuel to make it to the dusty desert planet of Eremus.
