Star Revenge 11 Star Adventure is a minor ROM hack made by jesusyoshi54. It is the eighth installment of the Star Adventure hack series, featuring 7 courses and 31 Stars. Despite what this hack's name implies, this is not a part of the Star Revenge series.

Overview[]

This hack is a compilation of various levels from the Star Revenge series, which were created by BroDute, and heavily edits the objects in each level. Most courses in this hack are a mashup of several different levels, with some twists added.

Gameplay[]

This hack makes some changes to basic gameplay, including:

  • Enemies no longer drop coins
  • Collecting a Star no longer initiates a warp
  • Dying in a course will send Mario back to the start of that course and deduct 1 HP, rather than simply kicking him out of the level
  • Fall damage has been halved
  • This hack uses the SM64 Text Engine which fundamentally changes the way in which text displays and is interacted with.

This hack is split up into two overworld areas. The first is connected to four quizes; each quiz will have the player answer a question about music used in the actual Star Revenge hacks, with each question having a platforming level between them. Each time a question is answered incorrectly, the player loses some HP. Each quiz will award the player with one Star, should they make it to the end of the final platforming section.

The second overworld is connected to another four levels, each with six Stars each. Each of these four courses contains a Dorrie NPC in it that will accept a password from the player. Inputting the correct password will award the player with that course's final Star; after collecting this Star, the player will be booted out of the level, and the level will no longer be accessible, therefore it is recommended to get all of a level's Stars before giving the password to the Dorrie.

Trivia[]

  • Although the title of the game is named after Star Revenge, those within levels from the series that did not appear once are the following: SR0.5, SR3, SR3.9, SR4, SR4.5, SR4.9, SR6, SR6.5, SR7, SR7.5, SR8 and SRX.
  • Both Rolling Deuce and Bloody Eclipse are guest stages derived from other hacks, although Dice-Fortress makes a throwback as a remake in SR2 Act 2: To the Moon.
  • The person in question talking in the dev log signs is the creator.
  • The more the player keeps talking to the scuttlebug at the end of the hack, the more teased he will get until he gives the player a hidden secret Star. However, if the player continues to talk to him non-stop, he will permanently softlock the game.[citation needed]
