Star Revenge 1: Star Takeover (formerly SM64 Star Revenge) is a ROM hack made by BroDute and released on September 3rd, 2012. This is the first game of the Star Revenge series according to the main chronology. A major revision of this hack was released on August 25th, 2018, rebranding the game with a new episode title, along with couple visual upgrades, gameplay changes and improvements.
Despite the belated re-release, a substantial remake of the original hack, Star Revenge Redone, was released on February 10th, 2013. Then on August 14th, 2015, Star Revenge Redone V2.0 was released as the final revision which will then be updated to Star Revenge 1.5: Star Takeover Redone a few more years later.
Plot[]
Mario takes off on a adventure where new enemies await him for new challenges and hard battles. The hack's plot focuses on Starenemies, foes that look like inoffensive blue Stars. Other than that, the plot is very loose and not really well explained. As explained, BroDute releases some of these blue stars which happen to take full control of Bowser and attempt to take over the Mushroom Kingdom.
Description[]
Over 100 Stars, around 20 new areas, a new soundtrack, a unique storyline, a big amount of Mario-style humor, variety and a big range of difficulty.
Jump head on with Star Revenge, as Mario meets along old and new foes on a brand new adventure you've never seen before!
Familiar, happy-go-lucky Power Stars or menacing shards of dark power: which side are you on? As this game amounts to goofy humor, most of which is related to various internet memes or swearing, the difficulty has definitely been increased compared to the original SM64. And BroDute has more up his sleeves to get everyone surprised every single moment!
