This article is about Star Revenge Redone 1.3 and earlier versions. For Star Revenge Redone 2.0 and later versions see Star Revenge 1.5: Star Takeover Redone.
Star Revenge 1.3: Star Revenge Redone (formerly known as Star Revenge Redone) is a ROM hack made by BroDute released on February 10th, 2013 with 105 Stars. It is a substantial update of the original Star Revenge 1. It received its second update on June 17, 2013, which raised the Star count to 106 featuring graphical enhancements, and then finally its third update on September 13, 2022, which also raised the Star count to 111 with newer QoL features.
In Redone, once Mario has collected all 100 Stars, he will get a password to open two files contained in the folder the hack came in. One is the credits, and the other one is a letter from Bowser inviting Mario to fight him in his hexagon world. This allows Mario to ultimately face Bowser and beat the game.
The substantial remake of Star Revenge Redone called Star Revenge 1.5: Star Takeover Redone was released on August 14, 2015.
BroDute initially stated that this version of Star Revenge won't be updated anymore as Redone 2.0 was already considered the superior version. However, this has gotten BroDute's approval as LinCrash took responsibilities to update it on the v2.0 iteration of Redone 1.3.

Secret Levels[]
Area | Name | Stars | Requirement | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Slide | Sunset Slide Mountain | 2 | Metal Cap | Accessible above Snow Mountain Resort's entrance. This level used to have a time attack Star but it was replaced with a red coin Star along the slide. Dat Boss (King Whomp) holds the second extra Star upon a fight. (Can be accessed without the Metal Cap) |
Weegee's Head (1.3) Weegee (1.3 v2.0) |
1 | Wing Cap | Accessible from the lonely cottage across the large pond in Overworld 1. | |
Wing Cap | Tower of Hope | 3 | Accessible through Mushroom Cliffs via a warp pipe. The third extra Star is hidden behind the BroDute tag stapled onto the tower walls. | |
Metal Cap | Toxic Factory | Accessible through Volcanic Caves via a warp pipe. This entire level contains toxic air that can decrease Mario's health very quickly. | ||
Peaceful Fields (1.3) Old geSEGKt Land (1.3 v2.0) |
1 | Key 1 | This level is a throwback to the first level ever made of the Star Revenge series (or so was meant to be). The level was rebranded to BroDute's former first hack name "SM64 geSEGKt" in the final revision. | |
Bowser 1 | Bowser's Ice Pyramid | 1 | 20 Stars | Both Bowser levels swapped locations together compared to their SR1 counterpart, and have kept their conventions until Redone 2.0 and later. |
Bowser 2 | Bowser in the Volcano (1.3) Bowser's Volcano Fort (1.3 v2.0) |
60 Stars | ||
Bowser 3 | The Final Trial | 90 Stars | Mario's movement and speed has been sped up 2x than normal. Because of this effect, this level is considered the hardest of the hack. | |
Bowser 4 | Bowser's Colorful Hexagons | 4 (5)* | 101 Stars | This level was first introduced in the Redone version. To engage Bowser in the final fight, the player must gather 4 more Stars to open the 105 Star door. *Star 106 also appears there by freak accident (it's been moved in at the Starting point in 1.3 v2.0). |
