Star Revenge X: Discord Star Adventure is a major ROM hack created by BroDute and released in June 2022. Officially, this hack has 101 Stars, but one of them does not give the player the option to save after collecting it.
It is a sequel set after the years of SR5.5 Destroyed Memories, taking place after the ending where Mario got captured by Reverse BroDute and is enslaved as a card among his other collections.
The gimmick of the game is based on red coin challenges similar to Weegee (SR1) and Anti-Weegee (SR2 Act II); and notably the feature presentation, prior to the title, are the Star-shaped emotes from BroDute's Discord Server.
Unlike the rest of the series, the hack is ordered very differently, as the levels are connected one by one by having to go without a single requirement, neither the caps and keys are present and no restricted death penalty.
Upon loading up a file, the player will be required to navigate a short series of platforms over lava, with many of them being non-solid to trick Mario into falling. To the left is a map showing the safe and non-solid platforms for easier navigation.
Plot[]
Trapped in the Blue Realm forever, Mario has to escape from the grasps of Reverse BroDute. But all in vain, he has devised a evil trap for Mario in order to teach him a lesson. Can it get any worse for the plumber to make ends meet?!
This hack takes place in Reverse Castle Blaudia, some time after Reverse Mario has been captured by Reverse BroDute and sealed away inside a card. Craving some more revenge, Reverse BroDute temporarily releases Mario and sends him off to collect Power Stars for him by completing a long series of challenges he created specifically for tormenting Reverse Mario.
Levels[]
Each level rolls in order back and forth to a linear progression, and the player can engage them by jumping off the Starting platform. There are 7 theme worlds: Forest, Ocean, Desert, Cloud, Lava, City, and Space. And with them each including 2 sets of 14 Stars making a long stretch of 98 Stars.
The player has to gather at least 7 out of 8 red coins (not counting the 8th) to make the Star appear, but has to pay attention by running around the Star emotes. Just like in Weegee's Challenge and Anti-Weegee, walking on the black lines are safe while the colorized quicksand should not be touched (although there are exceptions from the sign). Also the label "origin" on the sign will describe if the said emotes are created by BroDute or Twitter's Emoji Mashup Bot (in bold italics only).

Miscellaneous[]
Area | Notes |
---|---|
Blaudia Dungeon | This is the main hub leading access to the following areas: the Tutorial Chamber, the main worlds, as well as the door requiring 55 Stars and the caged Star that only gains clearance by collecting all 99 Stars. |
Tutorial Chamber | This area is a warm-up before the main game, completing it will unlock the way to the main hub. Attempting to skip the tutorial via exit course will have the player get scolded by Reverse BroDute in order to try again. |
False Hope | Opening the 55 Star door leads to the end of the game where Reverse BroDute enforces Mario back to his card form, proving that he cannot escape and never will be saved. |
Forgotten Halls | By clearing all worlds and collecting the caged Star, this area leads to the secret fight against MissingNo. It's worth noting that the area is the remnants left of Castle Blaudia from SR5: Neo Blue Realm but made to be desolate in the style of Cancer Design Castle. |
Revenge of MissingNo | This area is a more hap-hazardous version of the boss fight in MissingNo's Park. MissingNo (in the appearance of King Bob-omb) is more agile and faster but takes only two hits to defeat. Defeating him will grant the player the final 100th Star. |
Hope? Hell Hole |
Following the ending right before Mario gets thrown in his card, if the player manages to pause and exit course, Mario will set himself free and escape from Reverse BroDute. Mario finds himself back at the dungeon hall only to find a pipe which marks the end of the game. Alternatively, as this ending grants a secret Star, if the player opens the 101 Star door, it has been discovered that was another trap by Reverse BroDute only for him to get revenge against Mario; therefore leading him to the Hell Hole which counts nothing more than a bad ending. |

Trivia[]
- Coincidental or not, each world on Space Set 2 ends by facing the Star Spirits, commonly known for their appearence in Paper Mario. The music and visual aesthetics are also from the game.
- Although MissingNo's appearance is split in a different form in SR4.5 and SR5 (Wiggler), in contrast to this hack, he is far more threatening in the offense and defense. This also makes him the 6th time as a recurring boss in the series next to Timerock.
- Interestingly, the title is a mock of the Star Adventure series created by jesusyoshi54/scuttlebug_raiser; also notice the letters made into 7 red coins which implies the sole objective of the hack.
- This hack is the first ever of the series to have a fastest ending by doing absolutely nothing. The player can inadvertedly enter the card warp in the beginning of the game to quickly end it a few seconds after.
- During the escape after the Hope? cutscene, if the player exits the area via pausing, the game goes back to the False Hope cutscene; only to repeat the process of a never-ending escape. However, in the Hell Hole room, exiting it via pausing sends the player to the ending screen.
- Background elements in the world level sets are references taken from the following SR games: SR0, SR4.5 and its upcoming sequel: SR4.9, SR6.25, SR8, and Another Mario Adventure for one particular guest stage BroDute made.
- Emote Challenge 64 and Emote Challenge 64 2, two other hacks unrelated to this, are also based on Weegee's Challenge.
- Other game and culture references are foreseen in the emotes such as Mario Kart Tour, Friday Night Funkin', Twitch, CDi Zelda, Twitter, etc.
