Subnautical Slide is a ROM hack created by Dolphino for the SimpleFlips' Slide Hack Competition (2024) ft. PirateSoftware in which it placed 76th.
This hack contains one custom level called Subnautical Slide, which is accessible via the Bob-omb Battlefield painting in Peach's Castle. It contains 5 Stars to collect, with the final Act having no collectible associated Star, and there being no 100 coin Star.
Stars[]
Act 1: Urchin Care[]
Head down the slide until Mario reaches the halfway point, where he can stand on a starfish platform. From there, a Star is visible at the bottom of the stage on top of a purple sea urchin.
Slide down and then, just after passing through the large golden ring, veer right off the slide and dive towards the Star. Mario will need to land directly on it as the urchin has no collision, and the ground of this level is quicksand.
Act 2: Speedy Slip Slid'n[]
To spawn this Star, Mario will need to reach the end of the slide in under 21 seconds. This will require cutting all of the corners and not slowing to a stop at any point.
Act 3: Sparkle In The Seagrass[]
This Star is located at the very top of a giant strand of green seagrass. It can be obtained by veering off towards the right while sliding on the grey ray, right before the multiple small pink clams.
Act 4: Chowder Of The Largest Clam[]
This Star is hidden underneath a slippery platform towards the end of the slide, next to the starfish that Mario wallkicks off of to turn 90 degrees. This Star is most easily gotten by performing a very small jump at the end of the preceding slide platform, then kicking while in the air to move forwards enough to grab it.
Act 5: Secrets Of The Ray[]
This Star requires dicovering all five Secrets. Their locations are as follows:
- At the tip of the ray's tail.
- On the left eye of the ray. The eyes of the ray are not slippery and can be stood on.
- On the right eye of the ray.
- At the tip of the ray's left fin.
- At the tip of the ray's right fin.
The Star will spawn above the ray's nose. Recommend performing a triple jump into the Star while standing on one of the ray's eyes.

- After collecting all five Stars available in Subnautical Slide, if the player reenters the painting, they'll see that the final sixth Act is called Cum Guzzler's Delight.
- The left sign opposite the Bob-omb Battlefield painting says "My balls are gargantuan". The sign on the right says "Simpleflips won't read this FUCKING EEDIOT DUMBASS".
