Super Mario 64 SezNative Reminiscence is a major Kaizo hack made by six collaborating creators from the Japanese community, with stages from the following authors (alphabetically ordered):
- Akuro
- HIbaNYA
- Mokkyun
- Sill
- Standback
- Ura
This hack is the second Kaizo collaboration from inside the Japanese community, the first having been Integration of Fragments the year before. The level designs are also similar, with many levels featuring long platforming gauntlets with a large amount of red coins, just like its predecessor.
Reception of the hack was somewhat mixed: many players liked the continuation of concepts from the previous hack with improved texturing and level design, but some likewise criticized the hack for not being much different. One level in particular, The Ascended Symphony, was put under a wave of criticism for its long length, coin placements requiring whole area reclimbs, and overall lackluster design.
Regardless of said criticism, the hack is well-enjoyed by the wider Kaizo populace. This hack was the last Kaizo hack to come from the Japanese community until 2024, with the shorter "Japanese Community Battle Hack" given a limited, semi-public release, maybe done in part due to the large backlash from the initial impressions of this hack.
