Notable Gameplay Moments (Notes from the hack author)[]

In SM74 Final Fronter, there are a few things that should be mentioned about how the game is structured.

  1. All Red coin Stars serve as the 7th Star in ALL courses, and the names to be used for them will be listed here on this page as to minimize any naming discrepancies.
  2. The Secret Stages within the hack tend to be a large step up in difficulty compared to the main courses they parallel (for example Interdimensional Rainbow Realm is a quite bit harder than what C6 and C7 are. This does not apply to the cap stages or bowser stages. Those of which are relatively close to their parallel courses. (for example Metal Cap, Vanish Cap, and Wing Cap stages are all around the difficulty of Courses 4 and 5). Another thing to note is that the Stars in the secret stages (except for the cap stages since they arent complex enough) will also be given names by myself (this is mostly because if any of the Stars happen to make it onto the hardest Stars list, it would be much simpler for every Star to have an official name.
  3. The 6th Star of Every Main course serves as a "Prankster Comet Mission". In which the player is forced to complete 1 of 3 types of challenges to be awarded the Star. In each course, there will be a pipe that is present that allows you to attempt the prankster comet, and therefore the names and time limits of each comet will be right outside said pipe, listed on a sign. The 3 types of comets are as follows...
    1. Purple Coin Comet (Purple): The player must collect 100 Purple coins within an allotted timeframe. Pretty self explanatory.
    2. Daredevil Comet (Red): The player Starts the level With only 1 Hp, and is unable to gain anymore throughout the entire duration of the Star. A time limit is given to force the player to move quickly and be unable to take their time as much as they would care.
    3. Speedy Comet (Blue): The player must hurry through the level and collect a Star before time runs out. Unlike the previous 2, the timeframes for these are much, much stricter, requiring complete mastery of each and every level they are present in.
  4. There are no 100 coin Stars. As things like the Red comet would make getting 100 coins trivial for some stages, I have decided to remove them entirely.
