Super Mario 76: Strange Adventures is a ROM hack created by NormalX71. It contains 140 Stars and is intended for the player to collect at least 120 Stars to finish the game.
Overview[]
This hack uses retextured versions of the vanilla overworld areas. Nearly all of the levels contain a red coin mission, with many of them requiring more than eight red coins to be collected; the highest number of red coins needed is for the final Star in C15, Blacksky, which requires 30 red coins to be collected.
While this hack has more Stars than vanilla SM64, it has two less secret courses; both Vanish Cap Under the Moat and Wing Mario Over the Rainbow no longer have associated warp points. The Vanish Cap Switch is instead found in the Wing Cap course.
The levels in this hack span a broad range of difficulty. Earlier levels are very simple and can be completed in quick succession. Later courses have a drastically higher dificulty, with the final main course, Blacksky, having a difficulty on par with kaizo hacks levels.

As well as having retextured Power Stars (see gallery), this hack also features a small number of enemies that use different models. Alongside their vanilla counterparts, this hack contains Fly Guy's retextured to appear as small Wing Cap boxes, a blue flame, invisible, and even Mario's model. There are also a few retextured Chuckya's, some of which appear as very large cubes, as well as Shy Guy's (retextured Goomba's).
