Super Mario Light

Super Mario Light is a ROM hack created by Mizu (also known as MizuAfterDark). This is the creator's second hack, and contains 30 stars and including 3 main courses and 6 hidden secret courses. Although not as well perceived like Super Mario Star, this small hack was since developed back in 2017 due to Mizu not publishing or working any custom level over the course of 4 years.

It was initally released in July 2021 as a private Spanish hack, then was publicly released in November 2021 with an English version. In December 2024, a QoL update created and edited by DJ Tala was released (alongside Super Mario Star's update patch) in order to improve the gameplay and adds extra changes over the original version, with both English and Spanish localizations.

Gameplay[]

Compared to the original version, notable changes in the gameplay differ in the recent update.

Fixed warps are included and Mario stays back to a main course after being in a secret course.
Various cutscenes were modified, as well as a new extended credits cutscene was included.
Additional secondary/tertiary level cosmetic and mechanics were improved.
