Super Mario 64 Hacks Wiki

The Realm of Mario's Head 2 is a hack made by UPOW_131 for the Dream Themed Level Competition, in which it placed 26th.

This hack consists of two areas for Mario to explore, containing a total of six Stars. Collecting any of the Stars will not warp Mario out of the level, but will instead offer the coin Star-style save function instead. One of these Stars is a coin Star, which has been changed to require 200 coins, rather than the usual 100.

Areas[]

The area names for Computer Room and Memory Lane are unofficial. Bob-omb Battlefield, Starfield, and the Prison can all be freely moved between without Mario losing his coins.

Name Stars Required Access Point Notes
Bob-omb Battlefield 2 0 Mario's couch Easiest place to obtain the 200 coin Star. Defeat King Bob-omb for his Star.
Starfield 2 0 Any of the warp pipes in Bob-omb Battlefield. Beat Koopa the Quick and collect all 8 red coins.
Prison 1 1 1 Star door near where the purple switch would be in vanilla SM64's first course. Defeat King Whomp.
Negative Space 2 3 3 Star door near Mario's starting point in Bob-omb Battlefield. Collect the Star behind 2 Vanish cap meshes, and the Star on top of the building past the lava. Contains both the Wing Cap Switch and the Vanish Cap Switch.
Computer Room 1 0 Warp pipe on a floating island in Starfield. Star held by the man with a rifle.
Memory Lane 0 3 Warp pipe at the back of Negative Space. Requires the Wing Cap to reach. Will eventually lead to the ending.

Trivia[]

  • According to a Bob-omb Buddy, this hack is a sequel of another hack the creator made for the Zelda Hack Competition which "wasn't much more than a fever dreemish story", which apparently caused concern in some players as they suspected it may have been a "call for help" from the hack creator. This time around, UPOW_131 decided to poke fun at his own hack and make a satirisation of it.
  • It is possible to collect infinite coins in Bob-omb Battlefield, by continually breaking a box containing a single coin that respawns whenever the area is reloaded.
  • The art on the endscreen was AI-generated.
