Uranium Mario 64 is a major ROM hack made by usernamesarespiders, and released on August 2024. It is the sequel of Plutonium Mario 64, and acts as the kaizo version as well. The majority of the levels reappear, but are altered and mirrored with most of the safest environments to be hap-hazardous such as quicksand and lava pits. Its name takes after the radioactive and nuclear chemical element, Uranium, used as the contrast to the predecessor's difficulty.
The hack aims to be light-kaizo with the initial total of 110 Stars, although a number of challenges mount up to be harder as the game progresses. It introduces new mechanics and newer missions, and also, the power-up caps do not make an appearance for the first time.
Notable changes are the addition of a red coin counter replacing the life counter (which are now infinite), 12 red coins instead of 8, cosmetic and aesthetics were also changed and have a different color.
Plot[]
Mario returns to the land of Pluto, only to find that something went wrong... A rift has broken loose and the magical worlds have gone haywire in response to radioactivity! So before Uranus's rampage reigns supreme, Mario has to collect Stars a second time.

Trivia[]
- SPOILER ALERT! The hack, in fact, has a total of 132 stars. Once the player has obtained the main 110 stars, a new music plays in the overworld hinting that the new extra stars are available. Hidden secret signs in Course 11 and Safe Zone disclose the bonus content on the get-go.
- The key stages' second halves include a fake key, however, one of them (Toxic River Downs) extremely harm the player upon contact.
- The spinning penguins in Course 10 are nearly placed on the same spot as in the Plutonium version, except they cannot be interacted while on water.
- A small image of Sheen Estevez from the Jimmy Neutron cartoon series can be found somewhere in Course 12.
- Exiting the Safe Zone via the pause menu takes to a different area, otherwise falling off or dying from the quicksand does not do the same action.
